Moto Buddy Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 26, 2026
Moto Buddy ("the app") is developed by DirtDreams LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app accesses, how it's used, and what control you have over it.
The short version: Moto Buddy stores all of your data locally on your device. There is no account to create, no backend server, no analytics, and no advertising. We don't collect, see, or have access to any of your information.
Information We Do Not Collect
Moto Buddy does not collect, transmit, or have access to:
Your name, email address, or any account information (there is no account or sign-in)
Usage analytics, crash reports sent to us, or behavioral tracking
Advertising identifiers, and the app does not serve ads
Any data sent to DirtDreams, the App Store, or any third party as part of normal use
Information Stored On Your Device
Moto Buddy stores the following information locally on your device only, using Apple's on-device data storage (SwiftData):
Rider profiles you create
Bike details (make, model, year, nickname, hour meter, photos you add)
Maintenance logs, to-do items, and maintenance suggestions
Performance modifications, settings, and wish list items
Lap timer sessions and lap times
App preferences (units, currency symbol, default rider)
This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it yourself (see "Data Export" below). It is not synced to iCloud or any other service in the current version of the app.
Permissions Moto Buddy May Request
Moto Buddy asks for the following permissions only at the moment they're needed for a specific feature — never in advance, and the app continues to work without granting them (where noted).
Permission Why it's requested Leaves your device? Camera To take a photo of a bike or modification directly in the app No — photos are stored locally with the rest of your data Photo Library To choose an existing photo for a bike or modification No — same as above Location (While Using the App) To find nearby motorcycle shops and dealers when you tap "Find help nearby" in the Maintenance section No — your location is sent only to Apple's Maps/MapKit service to perform the search, and is not stored by Moto Buddy or sent to DirtDreams Notifications To send you local reminders for maintenance items with a due date No — these are local, on-device notifications; no push notification service or server is involved
If you decline any of these permissions, the corresponding feature is simply unavailable or limited — the rest of the app continues to work normally.
Data Export
Moto Buddy includes an optional "Export Data" feature in Settings that creates a single file containing your data, for backup purposes. This file is created and saved by you, to a location you choose (such as Files, email, or cloud storage of your choice). DirtDreams does not receive a copy of this file and has no access to it. You're responsible for storing and sharing this file as you see fit.
Children's Privacy
Moto Buddy does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because the app does not collect personal information from any user. The app is not directed at children under 13.
Data Deletion
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you can delete it at any time by deleting individual items within the app, or by deleting the app itself, which removes all associated data from your device (unless you have a separate device backup, such as an iOS device backup, which is managed by Apple/iOS, not by Moto Buddy).
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes — for example, if a future version of the app adds optional iCloud sync — this page will be updated, and the "Last updated" date above will reflect the most recent revision. Material changes affecting how your data is handled will be noted in the app's release notes.
